Language forms the content of what we say. Some examples of language delay in children are difficulty following directions, incorrect grammar, difficulty describing pictures or events, not understanding or using prepositions, unable to answer 'wh' questions, unable to sort items or name categories and delayed vocabulary.  I can share ways to work on these and more with specific homework activities as well as ideas of how to incorporate language building into your everyday activities.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association defines the difference between speech and language needs:
A language disorder is impaired comprehension and/or use of spoken or written language. The disorder may involve (1) the form of language (phonology, morphology, syntax), (2) the content of language (semantics), and/or (3) the function of language in communication (pragmatics) in any combination.
